Video Revolution, cont.

Video Revolution. Izzy on the road

My video revolution continues. I spent eight or nine hours working on a video about Lenore and my first children’s book, “Meet The Dogs Of Bedlam Farm,” out in May. Last week, I put up a video of myself reading to the dogs, and the book’s Amazon ranking went from 125,000 (it isn’t out yet) to 7,000 in an hour or two. Got my attention.

Monday morning, I’ll put up a video called “Lenore’s World: Meet The Dogs of Bedlam Farm,” which I spent a lot of time working on after my first lesson with Dave Bigler Productions in Saratoga Springs. Thanks Terry and Dave.

It was tiring, and I haven’t yet figure out how to separate the audio from the visual images. But I am learning a lot about cutaways, B-roll and perspective and some of that is definitely reflected in the video. It reminded me of my TV days when I was executive producer of the CBS Morning News.  I love editing the videos as much as taking them and figuring things out.

I told the people in my story-telling workshop that the static text form of story-telling is fading rapidly. All stories will have some visual element in the future. I’m on it. My lessons will continue, and the video is available for viewing on You Tube but I’ll post it here in the morning. I’m having a sweet day with my former girlfriend and have already spent some time doing still photos and she is working on her sketches.
