We are blessed with some great dogs, and it took awhile, but they have become a pack, a family, a reality that inspired my first children’s book ‘Meet The Dogs of Bedlam Farm,” out April 26. Frieda and Rose are hanging out together, and Lenore’s loving spirit is part of the glue that keeps this pack close, like a family. They love to pose together for photos and it is not possible to know what is in a dog’s mind, but these four seem very at ease with one another. I don’t think much about it, but it’s wonderful to have four dogs you can walk through the woods and not worry about (well..there is Frieda). Their portraits speak to me of love, patience and connection.

They are my family in some ways, but mostly, they are a familiar unto one another now, and that has been a beautiful thing to see.
