As we imagined, some animals – deer, almost certainly – have discovered Maria’s Three Sisters Garden and have been at the corn stalks, eating the leaves, the silk and some of the cob. We didn’t really build a deer-proof fence, and we are okay letting them have there share. If we expand the garden next year, we’ll build a larger fence, and since there are excellent farm stands all over the place, we’ll let the deer have their crack at it. We’ll have some left over, and it is a joy to see the garden grow and flourish.
