Spring Socks. Daisy Time

by Jon Katz

A month ago, I ordered two pairs of Spring socks, both with daisies on them. This was before I became a Fashion Icon, and my socks often go viral on the Internet now.

All this attention makes me a bit nervous, I decided years ago to have nothing to do with fashion, I wear jean pants every day and blue chambray work shirts.

Never in my life did I pay much attention to socks, they were just something to keep my feet warm and dry inside of shoes. I never got the meaning of colors and fashion until my wife – an artist who loves color – began ribbing me whenever I changed my clothes.

“What’s the difference,” she would say,”they’re all the same clothes.” Yes, I said, but at least they are clean.

As I get older, I learn the importance of color and light. I still don’t want to wear any different clothes, but I do love having these colorful socks on my feet. They have a sense of humor, and at least I’m not wearing pastel pants and white sneakers.

Just watch my ankles, they are starting to take off. I’ve got to think ahead for Fall and winter. When you are a fashion icon, you have followers to consider.

Now, I am wondering when the next Katz & Wulf podcast will be? It’s been a month since the last one and I so enjoy listening to you and Maria. Stay well.

    1. Good question Sharon, and thanks for asking…we’ve been crazy busy but it’s time, maybe tonight..
