We have the best alarm clock ever in Zinnia.

We need to get up and out early because we have animals to feed, and we never eat before the animals do. When the sun comes up, just around 6:45 a.m. Zinnia quietly wriggles up alongside Maria (there’s no room on my side of the bed) and rests her head on her shoulders.

She is careful not to wake us up; she is such a sweetheart. If we don’t move, she goes to sleep. When we wake up and talk, she wriggles up and showers both of us with licks; we hug back.

This is the best alarm clock ever and the best and most gentle way to wake up.
