“B” At Work, He Is Very Much For Real. Leaves And Chicken Roosts

by Jon Katz

B is a great worker with animals and farm tasks. He’s gone far beyond brushing dogs.

Today, we asked him to help Maria stuff plastic bags with leaves to keep the cold from creeping into her studio, which had been very cold for years. A friend here suggested the idea; he said the leaf bags would block the cold, and he was right. Maria wanted some help gathering the leaves, stuffing them into the big bags, and placing them around her studio. B was eager to help and did yet another great job. He loves the animals, and he loves working, a great combination for the farm.

I gave him another book, and he said he was excited about it. He is a reader, and I’m keeping the books coming. I love talking books with him.
