The RISSE Wish List Takes A Short (Needed) Vacation

The RISSE Amazon Wish List

The RISSE Amazon Refugee Wish List, which the Army Of Good chewed through at least 10 times in its short life, is taking a breather. The RISE after school is closed for Easter this week, and the staff is getting a well deserve rest.

The Army Of Good has purchased thousands of dollars in school supplies, lamps, bean bag chairs, games, puzzles, coloring book, paper towels, learning software, anti-bacterial soap, etc.

The staff is meeting this week to consider the future of the Wish List, they were stunned and delighted and grateful for the response. They are considering a shift from gifts for the after school children’s program to urgently needed supplies and home items for the refugee and immigrant families, in desperate need of anything relating to the household.

They’ll put up a new list next week, when the after school resumes sessions and the staff can figure out what the needs are for families and adults. I know they need shoes and clothing, towels and plates, etc. Watch for the list to return on Monday, if not sooner. I will keep on it.

And thanks, your generosity is inspiring.

  1. As any teacher will attest, the quality has direct impact on the quality of the child’s school performance. Supporting the home supports the school and the child to achieve.
